This drink didn’t come from a hard moment.
It came from a calm one.
I was already feeling okay, present, steady, unhurried, and I wanted to stay there a little longer.
So I made Ginger Black Milk Tea.
Not as a fix.
Not as a reset.
Just as a way to extend the feeling I was already in.
I sliced the ginger slowly. Let it simmer longer than necessary. Waited until the water was just right before steeping the tea. Warmed my milk of choice instead of rushing it.
There was no urgency. No multitasking. Just me, the stove, and a few minutes of quiet attention.
